The Childhood That Is Never Gonna Return Again.
It was a usual day. I was returning from college in the evening when I saw a few kids playing on the ground. They were running after each other and laughing. They fell, they got up and started playing again. They didn’t care if their clothes got dirty. They just wanted to enjoy and spent some playtime with their friends.
While walking home I kept thinking that time has changed a lot. There was a time when we never worried about what is going to happen in the future. We never had to make decisions like choosing real friends. We wanted everyone to be our friend. Doesn’t matter whether we know them or not. We used to spend hours staying at a friend's place playing.
It’s worth thinking that around 12 years back, everything was so good and simple. Nothing was complicated. Childhood was the most awesome phase of life, though we didn’t realize it then. Mistakes that were made then were easily forgotten and most of the time neglected. No Blue Ticks, No unread messages, no broken hearts, no sleepless night probably no mobile games. It' s no doubt that the kids from 90's had a real and a childhood than kids of the 20's.
Two years since I passed out of high school, my school uniform still lays in my almirah, folded and ironed up. Sometimes I would just look at it and do nothing but sigh. The days once gone are never gonna return again.
Remember the time when we used to sit together for lunch during recess in school?
We shared lunchboxes and talked about how the previous class went. Everybody would complain about their teachers who would take extra lectures just to complete their syllabus. Schools were boring as hell at that time still we used to go because we would see our friends. We never judged them. We would fight with them but then after some time, we were friends again. It really hurts when we realize that people with whom we were very close during childhood are no longer in contact.
Now when we see ourselves, we find that a lot has changed. We now have to select people. Friendships broken at this part of the time are not rejoined. Mistakes made now are much more difficult to handle. We make decisions that can change our lives. We wait for people to come into our lives and understand us. Sleeping early with a peaceful and happy mind is replaced by insomnia and depression. Spending hours on social networks just for that one person to come online.
Though our childhood has passed but still no one can disagree that broken pencils and lost notebooks were much better than broken hearts and lost friends.
